Petri Dish

The main tools of my trade as forest mycologist are containers like this one, which mimic conditions of the forest floor. This one is a dish of black sand, with scatterings of wood which will be the foodbases for the mycelial network I will grow so that it spreads gradually in random directions, and responds to connection between blocks by consolidating the mycelium. The result will be a system of organic piping, of the kind that construct the ‘wood-wide web’.
